What is Mold?
Molds are microscopic organisms found everywhere indoors and outdoors. Mold can be found on plants, foods, and dry leaves. Mold spores are tiny and lightweight and range in color.

Mold spores primarily cause health problems when they enter the air and are inhaled in large numbers. People can also be exposed to mold through skin contact and eating.

Mold Remediation Process
The first step to proper mold remediation is to thoroughly analyze the type and extent of the problem.
A visual assessment of the affected area will be conducted to discover the extent of the mold problem and document the type of mold-damaged materials. The use of specialized equipment may be necessary to assess and take air samples in ductwork or within walls or to detect moisture in building material. Surface and/or bulk sampling may need to be collected to identify specific fungal contaminants and to establish the appropriate remediation protocol.

A negative pressure environment will help to contain the mold, dust, particles and odors within the workspace containment barrier. Air always flows from areas of higher pressure to areas of lower pressure. Creating and maintaining negative pressure creates inward airflow direction through any leaks or openings in the containment barrier.
